The Stoop - March Showcase - YOU GO GIRL

Another month, another Stoop! Join us this month and every single month as The Stoop brings you real-life stories from real-life people who have a story the world needs to hear.

While Lily Be does curate this show, it's always a very organic curation process. Features usually get booked around dinner tables, in ride shares, or when someone finally reaches out and says I have something I want to say.

This month, The Stoop is so excited to feature three such tellers.

Sophia Monroy
Mary Munez
Kiki Connects

The Stoop is more than a show, it's an experience. It's a look into the lives of people in a way that isn't coached or heavily curated or judged. It's me, Lily Be just opening her home to people that feel they have something to say to people that might benefit from hearing it. It's love, light, understanding.

Come through. Nate Taylor will greet you at the door, Angel T Sambell will pour you all some drinks, listen to the blues jam with the owner Tony Mangiullo on the drums and enjoy the hosting and two extra stories by me Lily Be and my wonderful co-host Jenny DeLessio-Parson

Get your tickets online or at the door. However, we will not turn people away in this economy and weather, so come and let us know and we can make a deal of some sort. That is how we do on Lily Be's -The Stoop.

You guys like art? You gals like movies? Well, then this ain't the show for you... Sorry.

In the next exciting episode of Movie Club, DANETTE CHAVEZ will answer the one question that has kept you up at night: Are dogs better than Keanu Reeves? ... or maybe Danette won't answer that question. Who knows!

Featured performers:

Lily Be
Alba Machado

Mason, once again, hosts. Sorry.

WHAT IS MOVIE CLUB BLOCK OF TEXT

At Movie Club, we smash a couple cult classics, then reassemble them into something hideous yet captivating. You do not need to have seen the movies beforehand. Movies are dumb and our one-hour show will undoubtedly upstage them anyway.

The Stoop Six-Year Anniversary

SIX YEARS!!!!
WOW!!!
It's been quite the adventure, and our little baby is in first grade.
Which means that we passed the hump of kindergarten and now we on to more learning, loving, and living.

The Stoop has been one of the greatest things I have ever had the joy of working on. We have featured so many stories, helped so many people, and collaborated with so many amazing organizations.

Join us in celebrating our sixth year of sharing stories and connecting.

Featuring:

Mike Gifford

Jeremy D. Nichols

Jackie Holiday

Sophia Monroy

and introducing my new co-host Jenny DeLessio-Parson!!!!

COME ON OUT AND SUPPORT truth and vulnerability and Chicagoans making sense of the world through their stories. Enjoy drink slung by the best bartender in all of Chicago, Angel T Sambell at the recently inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame bar Rosa's Lounge!!!

Come to feel the vibes of legends that have graced the room and stage.

LONG gone are the days of us hosting a 2 and half hour show. Ain't nobody got time for that and we want to get you all home and in bed before the 10pm news.
That is unless you all want to stick around and listen to the blues. Which we totally encourage you to do after the show.
Lil Ed' and his blues pals put on quite the show every Thursday night from 9pm to close.

As always
tickets are $7 at the door and $5 online.

This month we are collecting money for Sean Akins, cancer survivor and performing artist who is doing wonderful things in the world

Live Lit (n): A fast-growing genre of live performance that involves a microphone, a story and an audience, typically performed in a bar or bookstore.

Chicago’s Live Lit scene is a rapidly-growing community of people who gather to tell and listen to stories. While storytelling as an art form dates back to ancient times, the current evolution of the form has recently exploded in popularity. On any given night in Chicago, you can find a place to listen to stories as an audience member or to test out your work as a writer-performer.

At the Fillet of Solo Kick-Off Night, join Dorothy Milne from Lifeline Theatre for an evening of performance and conversation with Fillet of Solo storytellers. Learn about the form, the history of the festival, and details on Chicago's many storytelling nights from the people who make them happen — all while hearing stories of different styles interspersed throughout.

Discounted Passes: Fillet of Solo Festival Passes will be offered at a special discounted rate of only $25 at the event (regularly $50).

Admission is free, no reservations required. Contact the Lifeline Theatre Box Office, 773.761.4477 for more information.
